High Testosterone

Long story short, I stopped taking BC in February, had a few regular cycles, then started an early period on June 10th and I've been bleeding ever since (FML). After a few different tests this past month, I found out today that my testosterone level is high. My doc prescribed spironolactone for 3 months which I'll start today. Supposedly, it'll regulate my cycle and help me conceive. I was told all of this over the phone by the nurse, so I didn't get to ask many questions. When I researched testosterone and it's effects on bleeding, I didn't find anything about prolonged menstruation. So I'm unsure of what my real issue is. Can anyone relate?
