How many newborn sized clothing do I need?

How much do I actually need??? I didn't purchase any because I have two small nieces and it was all handed down. I have close to 50 onesies, 50 pants, 50 socks...hats...bibs...Jammies. I think you get it. Then I have hardly anything in size 3m. How much of the NB size did you actually end up using? Let's say on a 7lb baby? I'm 37 weeks and don't wanna put all these clothes away if I won't need them.

My daughter was 8lbs and wore NB for a month. Some brands she lasted longer in. 50 is too many so change the outfit daily LOL your baby will never wear anything twice with that much.

I only got a few because your baby won't be going out for the first 4 to 6weeks of course we will want to take plenty of photos but that's what that hand full of NB outfits will be for...the first month or so sleepers, onesies, gowns, booties, hats, and mittens will be your babies go to gear.

My daughter is 11months old and is still in 00 because she is small. When she was born we got normal 0000 clothes and she was even smaller born so we had to get 00000 so it just depends because my 2 month old nephew is also in 00 and there 8 months difference. My daughter was 5lb 4oz when born

My son was born at 37 weeks and weighed almost 7lbs, he fit in his NB clothes for about a month and a half. He still fits in certain brands of NB clothes. I noticed that gerber onesies run a little on the smaller side but there are brands like from Walmart that run a little on the bigger side. My son was also a very log and skinny baby so that did have a lot to do with what fit him and what didn't.I don't know exactly how many NB clothes I had, less than 50 but more than 20, and he wore almost all of his onesies and a few of his pants. It will depend on the size of the baby and what brand and style of clothes you have.

My girl was 7lbs 3ozs and started wearing 0-3 months when she was about 4 months old!! She wore tiny baby and newborn until then. Also lay the clothes out and actually check the length etc as different brands will be a different size despite having the same size label. I organised all the clothes by what the label said and then some of it she had outgrown already.

I think it depends the size of the baby. I didn't buy any newborn clothing but one of my friends gave me hand me downs. I'm glad I didn't but much. My daughter was 8lbs 8oz and 21 inches when she was born. She only wore them for 2 weeks because she grew like a weed.

We had a total of maybe 10 newborn onesies and they stopped fitting by 6 weeks. We bought more 0-3m clothing instead which I'm so glad we did.
