Would you travel with a 3 month old?

We live in America and my husband is from Australia. We are having a baby in December. His family really wanted us to come for a visit in December, but we obviously can't because I'm having a baby. My sis and bro-in-law went down there when their baby was 6 months. He said they wished she had been younger since she was so active during the plane ride, it probably would have been easier if she was younger. So now my husband wants to go down there when the baby is 3 months old. Would you consider it? I don't want to since such a young baby has no immune system and the plane ride is at least 24 hours. And it's even easier to get sick in a plane. And it's still technically winter in March. And all of baby's clothes will be for a different season as well. Thoughts?

It sounds like you are feeling uneasy about it, and for good reason.
I could imagine an infant on a plane for a short ride (4-8hrs) however you said about a 24 hour ride which is a full day and I couldn't imagine doing that. Between feeding/diapering/crying every 2 hours, it would be rough. 
Can't your in laws visit you? I feel like they are asking a lot of you with a brand new baby.

Seems awfully young for a plane ride... I would be worried about the baby getting sick... I almost always get sick after I travel. So I'd be extra cautions about a3month old...
Maybe talk to your doctor and see what they'd recommend

I am taking my 3 month old on a plane in two weeks. But we are I'm going to be on a 2 1/2 hour flight. I think it will be easier to fly with a 3mo than a 6mo but I understand your concern for such a long flight.

I might would wait until about April. Cold and flu season is usually over by then. Flights will probably be less packed because spring break is over and summer hasn't started yet. It may even be cheaper. I think at any age flying with a little one will be hard. If your going to do it, not really any of the negatives are going to change. There will always be a chance of running into sick people. There will still be crying, diaper changing, and feedings. It's still going to be a long flight. I think waiting at least 3 months is definitely smart especially during cold and flu season but after that not much else is going to change.

Any day now I will be FINALLY having my son and my boyfriends family lives in Ohio we are in Texas. We bought plane tickets to go in November for thanksgiving (he will be 4 months). Our niece flew at 2 months and was fine. We also have to get winter clothing when we go to Ohio because of the weather difference 🙄 here in Texas it will still be somewhat warm lol

For us it will work out to 1.5 year most likely. The reason we will be able to wait that long is my partners parents have agreed to fly from China to Canada (after I'm done with work/tax season). Baby will be approx 6 months. In the mean time though we will fly to see my father somewhat regularly. Short plane trips seem to be a logical place for us to start.

I'm traveling with a 4 months old from Tokyo to the US. Most people say traveling with a young baby is so much easier because you just pop em on a boob and they sleep the whole time. Maybe keep baby Tylenol with just in case. Traveling with a toddler is worse because they can get motion sick. A baby won't.

My husband and I literally just came to this tough decision yesterday. We decided no, it's not worth it. 
I am American and we live in Brazil. We had an opportunity to go and visit in November but baby will only be three months. She won't have all her shots and her immune system won't be very strong yet. So we decided that ultimately,  we didn't want to risk her getting anything that we could easily prevent. 
We are going to wait until she's about 6 months instead. It was a hard decision to make, considering we haven't seen my family since early last war, but we had to do what was right for her.
