Pacifier or no to pacifier?

Dr. Said i could give baby a pacifier, im breast feeding my baby.. based fr. Ur expiriences mommies, will it affect anything if i gve him pacifier?

Every baby is different of course but my son had a paci starting at 3 days old and it never caused us any issues with breastfeeding

I think it depends on your child. My son had no problem going from breast to pacifier to bottle and back by the time he was 2 weeks old, but I know some babes have preferences.

My daughter used a paci for the first 6 months. We had a hard time breastfeeding in the beginning, but I actually believe the paci helped her learn to suck. She got the hang of nursing after about 2 weeks with the help of a nipple shield. I was also worried about giving her a paci, but based on my experience, I don't think a paci truly hinders the nursing experience. We weaned at 6 months cold turkey because it was waking her up at night when it fell out of her mouth.

My best friend breast feeds and her baby had a paci since they came home from the hospital. My nephew wanted nothing to do with one. I plan to see if my son will take one as it can help reduce the risk of SIDS.

If you want to keep getting up 24/7 because it falls out and they don't learn how to soothe themselves go for it
