Transvaginal Antral Follicle Count

I went in today to have a day 3 transvaginal ultra sound to measure my antral follicle count.

I had 7 follicles on my left ovary and 7 on my right. I read that the normal range for someone under the age of 35 is 14. Do I add my follicle counts together from both ovaries, or is that count based on each individual ovary? Meaning should I have 14 total to be considered normal, or 14 on each ovary?

My doctor explained it to me but I didn't think of this question to ask when I was there!
