Will I be able to eat and drink?

Question

My induction is scheduled for Tuesday night at 11:59 pm. My cervix are closed so they said to expect to be in labor for UP TO 3 days. I will be 37 weeks. Will I be able to eat and drink? This is my first baby and I have no idea what to expect

I was induced at 38 weeks due to gestational hypertension. Went in to my 3pm dr appt and they said its time to have this baby now. Took 27hrs from when I got to hospital until baby came. I was on a liquid diet the whole time. Luckily the nurse snuck me a sandwich right before they started otherwise I don't think I could have done it. My advice would be a great night sleep and a full belly when you get to the hospital. I thought I would be able to sleep a little while before it got too painful but I was sooo wrong. Ended up being awake for 36hrs and was so exhausted by the time I had her.

As far as i know youll be very limited on what you can have. Water based foods only is what i have heard ,but each hospital is different. Once you get the epidural (if you do get one) you can't have anything but ice chips usually.

When I was induced I was there for three days and they only gave me liquids until late the second day because nothing was bringing on labor and I was starving. Definitely eat before you go in.

they gave me a sandwich before we started. then said i would get nothing till baby was born.  my 1st induction was 12 hrs. second was 6. bring books games for the waiting time

After they start inducing you you are limited to what you can eat i.e. Jello soup that's all I remember being able to eat. You can eat after the baby is born. Good luck
