Moving into first apartment!!!!!

My boyfriend and I just signed our lease to our first apartment!!! We are so excited but I'm still a bit nervous about budget to be honest. Our place is within 5 minute walking distance to both our work and we make $4000 a month. Rent is $1440 so about 25%. He has school loans though, not much but some. I'm used to living at home and being able to spend a lot on beauty and clothes so it'll be an adjustment. Any tips? Could use some encouragement that we will be okay!!! I don't know why I'm so scared we won't have any money leftover. Our other expenses leave us to save about $1000 if its a really tight budget.
