what to do.. HELP!

My SO and I were arguing bout having children. We been together for bout 4 years. I told him that I don't want to have a child pass 35 because there is usually more complications and such. He told me to I should get my tubes tied tomorrow.. My SO best friend told me that i should get another boyfriend. I had to hold back my tears last night. My SO never told me he never wanted a child in the beginning. We also just bought a house together and a puppy plus i have another child from a previous relationship...
