I live in southern Oregon, and when family comes down... the most popular thing to do is to go on a jet boat dinner trip down the rogue.

However we have family coming three times this summer. My husband and I can't afford, nor do we really want to go on three of these river trips this summer. It's $70 per person! And if we said our reasons were finances his grandparents would pay for it, and they can't afford it either... though they're too proud and too generous to say so.

So we lied and said we were working on the only day that would work for both of us so that they'd go with their original plan of going tonight instead of tomorrow. I feel horrible about lying... but either way they'd either dish out money they don't have or guilt us because we didn't WANT to. 😞
