Like 4 hours? 6 hours? What do you think? And how do I bring it up to someone? We were both so against it but I'm not anymore because since I really like him I would try it

I tend to think of it as a distance where it's not really possible/realistic to drive there, spend time, & drive back all in one day.

Honestly, I consider an hour a LDR. It makes it difficult to see each other more than 1-2x a week & a lot of times can restrict it to only weekends. If you're asking the longest distance I'd do (for an extended period of time) it'd be 3-4 hours.

The closest my fiancé and I ever were LDR was 6hrs driving and the furthest was a week of driving/10-16hrs on planes. I personally count a relationship as an LDR when getting to see the other person takes a lot of effort and is very out of the way. If you live in the same city then I don't count it, but over an hour away is generally what Id say is an LDR. But it's not exactly comparable to a couple that's hours away and has to pay plane fees, etc just to see each other once a month or even less like once every 6 months.

I was in a LDR with my boyfriend when we first started dating. He was stationed in Texas and I live in New Jersey so we only saw each other about 1-2 times a year. It was hard but it was worth it.
