How do you view Marriage? Do believe that legal papers matter?

I personally am on the fence about it. For wanting to share a last name it matters more. I don't feel I need a piece of paper telling me what I feel is true for my relationship. We in many ways are already married to each other but don't share a last name or have papers. I'm not use to call my man husband in front of people yet and don't want to deal with family whom think we need paper to be married so i say his my fiance which he is as we do plan on having a wedding. My fiance thinks papers matter. Even though his called me his wife since we been together for 2 years. We have a daughter and its been 5 years together.

It'll be nice to see others views on marriage.
