am i being too clingy?

alright soo iv been talking to this guy for about 6 weeks now. we live in different towns so we haven't been able to hangout yet... we text each other every day but sometimes he will go hours and hours without replying when i know hes not doing much. we arent officially together or anything but we do both like each other and have told each other that. i just get mixed signals from him when i dont hear back from him for hours on in sometimes. ie ;ill text him last at like 11 pm then wont hear back till 3 pm the next day. he does always text back though eventually...am i being too clingy or is this guy trying to play me? like i said were not officially together and we haven't seen each other since we started talking because of the distance. i used to live where he does but then moved but we started talking and now i dont know if im being too clingy or if hes just playin me..  opinions? thoughts?? Suggestions??

I'm in a long distance relationship with a guy I haven't met yet. We had only been talking for about a moth before we actually told each other how we feel about each other. If we're talking, and I don't answer him fast enough he'll check to see if I'm still there just like I will with him. We're to the point where he's planning to move halfway across the country to be with me. You need to look for a guy that will go to those lengths for you.

Unfortunately just talking doesn't mean much. I had this situation with a guy from NY while I am in Arizona. It used to drive me insane. We even got to the point we're we decided to officially be together and that literally lasted less than a day. There was no change in effort or consistency. It just really struck me that I think he was keeping me on as a bootycall for the times he would visit his best friend in AZ. Meanwhile, I had met another man, (my current partner). From the get go the effort was just different. I told him I had feelings for someone else and was perusing that. My current partner, he respected every boundary I had placed while still wanting to maintain a friendship and getting to know me. That difference in effort, really solidified that people make the time for you when they want you around.

I read an article about a woman, the author, who was having this issue. She ended up as an experiment only having him send the first text and she'd respond. It turned out she was keeping the whole thing going the whole time and doing all the work, and when she left it to him there was days when they didn't speak. In the end he just wasn't that into her and didn't care to put in the effort.

Guys that give mixed signals usually are a waste of time. But at the same token maybe he's not allowed to text at work. Who knows.

Honestly I'm like that too , the not replying until late. Sometimes I'm distracted on my phone doing other things or I just forget to text back. My bf hates it too though. I'm just kinda getting over being on my phone a lot. And I get very busy a lot. 
Talk to him and find out what his reasoning is. Maybe it's something simple . Good luck

I was like this too. It definitely got in the way of my past relationships and one ended Bc of it. If you really feel likes it's an issue and you think he's willing to sort it out with you then talk about it with him. It's taken me a lot of disappointment to finally get over it, but it depends on if he was being a jerk about not talking to me then I'd be butt hurt. People need some space without having to surround their world around you, maybe he wants to watch his show or play his favorite video game? I say follow your gut, if you feel the need to talk about it; do it.
