Low amniotic fluid

I am 35+1 weeks. I had my weekly Friday ultrasound and my amniotic fluid level was at a 14 which is great. Sunday I went in for flank pain and my AFI was at a 9 which came to their concern and booked me another ultrasound for Tuesday. I go in Tuesday and my levels dropped more and was at a 6. I figured that would raise more concern because I am a high risk pregnancy due to my son having Gastroschisis and possible IGUR. They did an NST and my son passed and is doing fine. I have another ultrasound Friday, is there a possibility I can be induced if it gets lower ? Has anyone had this problem and what was your experience? What is being induced like? Also I've been drinking TONS of water this entire pregnancy and made no difference to my fluid levels these past couple days.
