Cloning your pet...🐶

Th

My SO has a dog that's his first pet and he is extremely attached to.

We've already agreed that we would clone her when she passes. We know personality factors won't be the same, she'll be a different dog, but he still wants to do it.

Of course it's selfish and people can argue it's "playing god" (which pretty much all modern medicine is) but would you do it for a pet that you've had/have?

As much as I love my cats, it would feel strange to me seeing them again but them being different cats that just look the same. I personally wouldn't clone my pets. I'm alright with loss, whereas my SO can't take it.

He handles death terribly, in contrast I'm too flippant about it. It's one of the few things I struggle to empathise with, but I understand why it's important to him that we clone our dog.

(FYI there are many risks, factors and things to take into consideration - but this is speaking SOLELY about cloning in general, not the risks/costs/ethical matters)
