Is there such thing as advocating "TOO much" for social justice and equitable outcomes for diverse populations?

I was reading on another discussion website that people are put off by what they refer to as "SJW's" or "Social Justice Worriers". From my understanding, a SJW is an individual who advocates so passionately for social justice they can get belligerent, and even violent. For example, meeting someone who does not share the same views on social justice advocacy, and accusing them of being racist and escalating the argument. Essentially taking social justice advocacy to an extreme.

As a very passionate social justice and equitable outcomes advocate myself, I can see where this passionate and heated debate can escalate. Likewise, given the empirically proven detrimental effects of systemic racism and inequality, it is difficult to imagine why people would not advocate for equitable outcomes for all human beings.

I personally question the concept of advocating "too hard" for other human beings, because I feel like the louder the voices, the more they are heard. Obviously, I do not advocate for violence, but it has been centuries now that people have been oppressed, and while there has been improvement, there are still significant disparities.

In your opinion, is there such thing as advocating too hard for social justice?
