Bleeding at 5w2d.

I'm 34 and have been TTC for 8 months. I got a positive pregnancy test almost 2 weeks ago, and believed I was a little over 5 weeks pregnant, but then today I started bleeding. An ultrasound revealed my uterine lining is still there and thick so they aren't able to confirm its a miscarriage. It could be normal bleeding. Anyone else bleed in the first trimester and their baby made it? I'm losing hope.
