Tattoo tip?

So I'm getting a chest piece done for my anniversary present lol 😍 it's going to range from 500-550$$. Was just wondering what a good tip amount would be for this? And do I tip after the first session or the very last when it's finished?

I always tip my artists very well. I have an almost half sleeve that we were able to do in two sessions and both sessions I was there for the entire day from open to close and I tipped him both times about $100. I just feel that they are using their talent to draw something up for me and it is a one of a kind piece, there is nothing like it out there except for mine so I like to make sure they are taken care of. Where we go there is a shop minimum and then an hourly charge after so much time and he has to pay rent for his spot so majority of what he's charging us he doesn't get to keep much of.

I'd say a 50$ tip, maybe even 100$ if you can afford it, and I'd tip with both sessions, because they're sitting there working on a piece for most likely a good amount of time, both times. What are you planning on getting?

The tattoo artist is already getting paid $500 dollars to sit there and tattoo you why on earth would you pay ANOTHER $50/$100? 😳
Even if it takes 2 days and only does 1 tattoo a day, $250 per day is a very good wage! That's $1250 per week Monday-Friday and £5000 per month!! 👉🏼😳
