i'm not allowed to use tampons?

i'm 14 about to be 15 and i'm not allowed to use tampons! i started my period at 13 and i've only used a tampon once before secretly because my period was so heavy one day and that's all my school had but it felt so much better than pads. i'm not allowed to use them because i was told by my mother you can't use them when you're a virgin. is this true? i also do sports like cheer and track. and sometimes my periods get heavy and they last long sometimes so wouldn't tampons be best? is that stuff about virginity and tampons true?

That is not true at all. Tampons don't affect your virginity. It's your body, so if you want to use tampons you can. Do not let your mom fool you, she sounds like the parent that instills fear into your mind. My mom was like that, best of luck to you

It's not sure lol I think parents just don't want to know something is going in their daughter 😂 but it's your body and as long as you know how to use them you should be able to wear one haha

You can use a tampon whenever! It won't take your virginity or anything. That's how I was, my mom only bought me pads and I couldn't use them until I was a "woman". Even though I lost my virginity I still use pads because I don't like tampons.
