Good thing or bad thing?

What's your opinion on Common Core? Is it a good thing (GT) or a bad thing (BT) and do you understand it yourself?

Honestly it's bullshit. It doesn't teach critical thinking. It teaches "shut up, sit down and do exactly what I say, exactly the way I say it. No room for anything else, even if it is right. "

Hate it. I taught for one year and quit. It made teaching not fun and the kids hated it as well. It made everything really boring and I don't think everyone should have to be taught the exact same thing the exact same way. Now I'm working in insurance lol.

I'm pulling my kids out to homeschool them due to common core. If the children get an answer right, but do not get the answer by the same methods as being taught then the whole problem is counted wrong. Its like programming a child's mind to only think a certain way. Sorry, I want my children to be able to think for themselves, and be able to come to a conclusion on their own terms.

As someone who is currently subject to common core: I hate it. It's awful. The way that it's being taught destroys kids.. I've watched it. I went from eager to learn and positive about the public education system to hating it. I can't stand going to school. I hate the work. I don't care.

I absolutely hate it!!!

My son has learning difficulties he doesn't understand it. He counts in ones and uses his fingers 
So when he gets math homework he struggles i show him the old - normal -way and he gets it 
I said to his school about it and they were like "yeah well this is how they are being taught now" so I moved! Best thing I've done
