Should camp counsellors be allowed to have tattoos and piercings?

So I applied for a J1 Visa program to be a camp counsellor in America for the summer 2018. When trump was becoming president he promised to get rid of the program, so I’m taking the opportunity while it still exists.

Part of applying though is to insure you have no visible body piercings or tattoos. If you do then you will have a harder time getting camps to hire you. You also must be able to cover them. I’m ok because I don’t have any, but I don’t think it’s all that fair either. What makes someone less qualified for the job because they have body piercings and tattoos? Bonus question would you allow your child to go to a camp in which the counsellors had piercings and tattoos?
