Anyone had the HSG procedure done while TTC?? What was the outcome?? Did you have to have surgery to remove tubal blockage?? Did you get pregnant shortly after??

Hubby & I been TTC over a year and I recently found out I have low thyroid and borderline high cholesterol. I've been thinking maybe I have a tubal blockage or something that's preventing me from getting pregnant.

I had an hsg in May and my tubes were fine we've been trying for 2 years with one miscarriage in feb 16 I'm now 4 weeks 5 days pregnant. good luck!

my doctor wants me to have this done but my husband and I just got new insurance because he swapped jobs so we haven't met our deductible yet but she said its best to wait til we are close to meeting it or do meet it because of its expensive. can y'all enlighten me on the expense you paid outta pocket?

I had it done in April - no blockages everything was fine - definitely not my favorite experience, but not as terrible as people made it seem ..... got pregnant in June !!

I haven't personally but have a friend that did and she had blockage removed and conceived within a month after the procedure.

I had my done a week ago (on friday), don't want to freak you out, but it effing hurt. But the nurse said it's different for everyone, she had it done and it didn't hurt at all. I got a positive opk like two days later, I think it made me ovulate earlier than I usually do!! Maybe my tubes just needed a little clean out, who knows:) Crossing my fingers for a BFP!!

I had a HSG today. It was painful. Very painful. I can say one of the worst pains I have ever felt. (And I have a high pain tolerance AND I took 800 mg ibuprofen beforehand.) but it had mainly to do with the fact hat my cervix was very very tight and she had to try 3 different tools to get in there! Anyways I had no blockage and everything looks fine. I will update if it helped me get pregnant.

I have Medicaid for me and my 3 boys. My Dr's nurse said Medicaid does not pay for fertility treatments/procedures. I live in TX.
