Need help: OB/GYN visit yesterday & spotting

Yesterday I had my first visit with my new OB/GYN to discuss irregular periods & getting pregnant & to also have my annual pap / exam. Everything went really well, he was very gentle & I felt fine the rest of the day. Last night my SO & I had sex & this morning I am noticing some light spotting. I'm not sure if this is a possible normal response given the pap/exam yesterday? I have never had any spotting after sex before. In hind sight I'm wondering if this is coincidental & could possibly be implantation bleeding, seeing as how the last time we had sex was 8 days ago & it was mid cycle-ish? With the irregular periods tracking ovulation is next to impossible. 

Any thoughts or advice from anyone with anything similar would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
