Car seat base question

Jordyn`s Mom
I'm kind of lost on this. I bought a Graco travel system, brand new, and now I have to buy a second car seat base for the other car. Does anyone know if it have to be the exact same car seat base, I know it have to be the same brand, but Graco sells two different kinds of car seat bases. I don't really want to spend so much on just a base, so I've been looking on Craigslist and I keep seeing the one that mine didn't come with, so that's why I'm asking. I would really appreciate the information, thank you.

Do you HAVE to buy a base? We occasionally switch vehicles too, but when we do we just secure the car seat with the seatbelt.

It should be fine. Its just less work if you have the base. As long as baby is 100% secure

If it requires the base or not depends on the carseat. We drive a mustang and nothing would fit with a base so we did a ton of research. We needed on that could be used without the base, handle up, and with the seat touching it. The best thing to do is read the manual for your car seat AND your car.

Yes the exact same base has to be used for correct latching and safety of the child

I'm pretty sure there is a difference between the different bases. To be safe I would buy the same one you got with the car seat. Try ebay, you can usually get a good deal there. :)
