Killing of sharks

I was watching a documentary on NATGEO Wild of a series of shark attacks off the western coast of Australia. The narrator began to talk about the government’s efforts to make the popular tourist beaches safer by killing sharks that linger near the area.

My question for the poll is, should the killing of sharks be allowed? If so, to what extent? Just if they’re near popular beaches? Or should there be no boundaries?

For me personally, this just doesn’t sit right. We often forget that WE are trespassing into THEIR home. I just can’t find a way to justify it.
