Sonogram??

How does the doctor do the first sonogram? I've heard it's through the vagina. Is this right? I'm 6 weeks pregnant.

I had my first through the abdomen at 8 weeks. She said she would try to abdomen first to see what she could get and it turned out to be a really good view so we did not have to do it vaginally.

Yes. It's not uncomfortable!! Although my husband freaked out. He said he would have liked some warning that they were going to stick "something" inside his wife!!  I've had a lot of these though, so it was normal for me. I was 6 weeks when I had it done!
