Teething already?!

FTM question: I feel crazy asking this but: my baby has been super drooly, making lots of sucking motions (not hunger) and wanting to suck on things over the past few days. He will be 6 weeks on Wednesday. Is it possible he is teething already or is this just part of his mouth development? Thanks!

Some babies are born with teeth so he could be, my lb is 9weeks on Wednesday and I also think he's teething

It's his teeth shooting into the jaw. They won't come out for another few months.

I doubt it's teething, it's uncommon for baby's to be teething as early as three months, let alone six weeks. It's more likely that it's just your baby starting to discover their hands. Mine started sucking her hands around the same time and now at 4 months she's still obsessed with them. The amount of drool is insane 😩😂

It could be apart of mouth development, but it sounds like hunger. Children go through growth spurts, especially at 6 weeks. Sometimes they need a little more food than usual. Try giving them a teether or a binkie if you're allowing that.

Every baby is different, it's generally too early but jot impossible. That being said my son has all the classic teething symptoms and fussiness when he was that young and it gradually got worse until we figured out that he had reflux and actually needed medicine. Hopefully this is not the case with your baby but if it is it usually resolves in the first year, I would urge you to look into it and just be aware of what infant reflux is, also consult your pediatrician. It's something that a lot of parents AND doctors overlook. I breastfed so my son was constantly wanting to nurse to soothe the burning in his throats and belly, it was mistaken as clusterfeeding for so long they thought I want producing enough milk when I was actually giving him too much!
