3rd degree tear..

Cece • • мαмα σf 3 •

I gave birth to my little girl on July 24th.. while pushing her heart rate dropped dramatically so the doctor got the vacuum out and told me to push as hard as I could. So she came out FAST, causing me to get a 3rd degree tear. I just need to know if any other mama's have gotten a 3rd degree tear and how they're healing? Mine still hurt if I don't use dermoplast to make it numb. Sitting down is still so uncomfortable unless I sit on a very soft pillow.. and when I walk around a lot they sting. Making me need to spray myself with dermoplast more often than if I just stay at home and sit around. Also, what have you done to help your stitches? Do epsom salt baths really help? This is my beautiful baby, Aurora 💜 She's worth the pain I'm still enduring 😌 (Posted in multiple groups to get as many answers as possible)

My doctor gave me an episiotomy because my baby boy came out fast too I only pushed 3 times. He said that the actual incision heals faster than getting a natural tear. I'm 2 weeks pp and I don't feel it anymore sometimes it gets itchy from where the stitches are healing but all the products I used worked magic 🙌🏻. The only thing they gave me at the hospital was a squirt bottle. I went the next day to buy dermoplast, witch hazel to put on the pads, Motrin, and an ice pack. Now I just use the squirt bottle and I'm starting to feel normal again.

Congrats! She's beautiful! I had 45+ stitches and it hurt like hell for the first 3-4 weeks, then started to ease up. By my PP appt (6 weeks, I think?), the stitches were almost all dissolved, and things were getting back to feeling normal again. That dermaplast spray, warm water bottle spray, and tucks wipes with witch hazel, plus the giant sized hospital pads were an absolute necessity at every bathroom break all day long for those 6-8 weeks

Oh, and epsolm salt baths did help me, as well as rubbing coconut oil down there!

I seen it on Pinterest and asked friends about it. They said it helped them a lot so I made a stash in my freezer already! 😂

I wish I had this info. it sucked not having those when I ran out of hospital supply. which was too quick...

I didn't have a 3rd degree tear, but my baby started having problems and they had to vacuum her out quick as well. I did get a 2nd degree tear in two spots. I had ice packs I put in my underwear, the dermoplast spray which didn't work too great so I did this and an ice pack every time I changed everything, a bottle with warm water in it for when I peed, and witch hazel pads.. They also say a sitz bath will help. Btw, if you lean forward while you pee or stand over the toilet, it won't burn near as bad if not at all! I learned this in an awkward way but it helped keep from making me cry when I peed. I also sat on a pillow for comfort.. And if you don't have ice packs, use diapers. Cut a slit in the inside of the diaper on the top of the back side and put some ice in there. Fold it over and fasten it around to close it off. That's a bad description but I can put pics if I need to..
