To try or not try ?

Question

So I have a question....
What do you guys consider ttc ? 
Is ttc just having sex or is it doing the extra things like opks? bbt ? Charting your periods ? 
What would you guys say is the first step to start ttc.

to me TTC, means no more protection during sex and actually trying to have a baby. not just having sex. BBT, OPKs, etc are just part of it to try and make it happen faster

My family has a saying for this. Getting off birth control doesn't mean you're trying it just means you stopped trying not to. Trying means actively paying attention to your cycle, charting and/or using OPKs. Honestly though I think this is BS! Both my sisters in law concieved without having to "try". Im the only one who has had to actively chart and plan. All that does is make me feel like crap about myself. Why do I have to try when it just happened naturally for them? Like oh what a nice surprise I'm pregnant without even trying! Personally, I think the moment you decide you are ready for a baby and stop birth control you are TTC. Whatever methods you use (or don't use) are up to you. Different things work for different women.. letsnot label it differently and make others feel bad who may have to work a little harder.

First step is deciding that you're both ready to have a baby, then you start trying. Whether that's just sex for now or tracking, temping, using OPKs. It's up to you. Though OPKs will help a lot in helping you pinpoint ovulation. If you don't want to spend the money on those just yet, I'd say just have sex every other day to cover all your bases.

well I consider TTC the actual Act of attempting to get pregnant. I do occasionally check on BBT but I just tried to keep track of when I'm ovulating which also helps me know when my period will be.
