When your best friend isn't that excited...

Sarah

So I'm super happy and excited even though I'm only 5 weeks pregnant. I sent my best friend a picture of a 5 week embryo, and she sent me back a picture of a 12 week baby. She keeps asking me if I've had a blood test yet at the hospital. She seems unable to be happy and excited for us that now finally God has blessed us with a little one. I explained to her that we had told her early because we wanted her prayers for our little one, having had 2 miscarriages before (although much earlier in my life). Imagine if I hadn't told her until 12 weeks!!! I kind of feel like I can't do anything right for her at the moment. So I explained that I thought her reaction was a little odd, and that I could understand if she was a little jealous, and that I forgive her if she is (having been the jealous friend myself many times!) but she insists she's not. My husband and I have been so busy recently - we are constructing a new home and Christian ministry - and we haven't had as much time/energy/money to spend with our friends. This seems to be bugging her, even though I've explained a few times to her why things are like they are. Anyway, has anyone else experienced these stretching and changing relationships since having a baby on the way?
