anterior placenta?

Question

For anyone who has had an anterior placenta.... when did you find out? I've had one Ultrasound so far @10 weeks... I go for my anatomy scan in 2 weeks.... I'm just wondering if that's the reason I haven't felt any type of movement yet. Im 17 weeks and most people seem surprised that I haven't even experience any little flutters yet.

So I'm not sure if it's just still too early or if maybe the placenta is to blame.

I'd appreciate any type of feedback ☺️

I have an anterior placenta I found out about at my 20 week scan (anomaly scan in the UK). I'd been feeling flutters since 16 or so weeks though and at 24 weeks now, he's kicking and moving a lot! I think it depends on the size/spread of your placenta as I just haven't felt anything around my navel area which I'm guessing is where my placenta lies beneath. My friend, on the other hand, had an anterior placenta and didn't feel anything until 24 weeks. Definitely not as bad as it can sound for everyone but I appreciate I'm quite lucky with that.

I think I found out at my NT scan at 12 weeks.  But even with the anterior placenta I started feeling flutters at 18 weeks so I bet you'll start feeling something very soon!

I am 19 weeks, had my anatomy scan yesterday, and don't have an anterior placenta but I just started to feel baby within the last week and really to feel actual kicks or movement yesterday.

I found out I had an anterior placenta at 20 weeks at my anatomy scan. I didn't really feel baby girl move much until 24 weeks-now my daughter is two and a half months old!  Even if you don't have a anterior placenta, it's very possible to not feel movement until 20+ weeks so not to worry!

I have a posterior placenta and didn't feel my baby until 17 weeks 3 days

They never even mentioned mine till a 30 week scan but you can always ask at your next scan! It definitely made sense when they told me since I didn't feel her until past 20 weeks and even then not very much. She's definitely been active enough from 28 weeks on to feel her a ton even with the anterior placenta though!

Just wanted to update the ladies who were kind enough to comment. I went for my anatomy scan yesterday and found out that the placenta is in fact currently in the front of the uterus and that's why I'm not feeling much of anything. My little boy was a ninja on the screen kicking and punching and while I watched the screen, I could feel tiny things that I otherwise would have never known were him.  The tech said when he gets bigger it won't muffle him as much, and the placenta will probably move as well.
