Unexpectedly all natural...
Some would consider me very lucky.
Here's my birth story.
My given due date was Sept 1st.
However, my daughter made her entrance on August 7th, 2017.
At 1:30am I woke up to use the bathroom (we all loveeee those middle of the night trips). So I use the bathroom and then I stand up and notice that a mini gush of what I just thought was pee comes out. I go ahead and switch my underwear and shirts and crawl back into bed. Not 10 minutes later I feel another small gush that makes me get back up (at this point I'm mad that I may have gotten our bed wet). So I get up and just sit on the toilet for a few still not realizing that what's happening is my water breaking... stand up and again small gush. I finally catch on and go ahead and wake up my husband and call the doctor to let him know my water has broken. He tells me to go ahead and come in, don't wait. I partially listened and decided on my own to go ahead and take a shower and throw some makeup on. I'm having light contractions at this time, prob 8 minutes apart but pain is nothing really bothering me.
So we get everything loaded in the car and we're on the way (it's a 40 min drive to hospital). Well then SHIT GOT REAL. My contractions dramatically increased in timing and pain. I was gripping the "oh shit" bar so hard I'm surprised I didn't rip the thing right off. We get to the hospital and they get me right into a room (the poor man who took me from ER in wheelchair is basically sprinting). I was already 7cm and they asked if I wanted epidural. Without hesitation I screamed yes. They got me admitted within minutes and moved me straight to delivery room. I keep repeatedly asking for epidural. My contractions were so intense I thought for sure I was going to throw up everywhere. At this point there's at least 5 people in my room prepping for me to have this baby. I am SCREAMINGGGGG in pain, begging for pain meds. They check me once more and it's game time. They tell me there just isn't time for epidural. I look to my husband and just bawl that I can't do this, I can't do this. And then something clicked. I just thought I can't avoid this, I have to get her out so I might as well just grit and bear it. I start pushing and within 5 pushes my baby girl made her debut. The RING OF FIRE IS REAL Y'ALL. I ended up having a 3rd degree tear.
Because she was born at 36 w 3 days they considered her "late term premie", but I thank my lucky stars I didn't carry full term because she came out at 8lbs 3 ounces and 21.5 in long!
There is NO PART of me that would ever consider doing a natural birth again, but guys... she was worth every bit of pain and more.
