Theophilus for a boys name?

I've actually never heard this name and my BD woke me up the other night to tell me it. My grandfathers name is Theodore and sadly he is on his last leg. I think it's a great spin on Theodore. I can still call him Theo or Teddy. What do you all think!?

I like Theodore but not sure about Theophilus. Of course this is ultimately up to you but I'm not a fan of the name myself.

You can name your child whatever you want:)
Personally I would call him snuffalupugus.  (I do this with my baby names to try and think of what mean kids would say)
Honestly do whatever you want, just think about if he would get teased

It is a very old fashioned yet strong name. I've met one and he was 80+. As a person who grew up with a partial "old lady" name, just think of the cruelty of children in school and how this might affect your sweet boy growing up :-)
