Broke up with him

I broke up with my boyfriend because he constantly kept telling me he was going to kill himself. I would constantly tell him that wasn't an option but when he lost his job it got worse. I told him that I didn't have time to date anyone right now, he said that he's going to kill himself because he's loosing me. I feel deep in my heart that he is forcing me to be with him by saying things like this.
