Do you have to take pill at the same time?

hey guys, i've been reading online and it says that if you're on a combination pill it doesn't matter when you take it as long as you take it daily. i take mine every evening but the timing varies i don't actually have a set time. me and my bf don't have sex but do other things such as manual sex, dry humping when one of us is naked and one is in underwear and he doesn't ejaculate, but i'm worried about pre cum. any advice?
