Do you have to take pill at the same time?

hey guys, i've been reading online and it says that if you're on a combination pill it doesn't matter when you take it as long as you take it daily. i take mine every evening but the timing varies i don't actually have a set time. me and my bf don't have sex but do other things such as manual sex, dry humping when one of us is naked and one is in underwear and he doesn't ejaculate, but i'm worried about pre cum. any advice?

Since you're not having intercourse you're fine. But the combination pill is supposed to be taken everyday within an hour of a set time. Otherwise it's considered late and is less effective. A combination pill taken outside of a 12hr time frame is a missed pill. Those are the standard time frames though, different pills have different time frames to be considered late or missed. Read the pamphlet that came with your pill  But know that the pill is only 99% effective if taken perfectly meaning it's taken at the same time (meaning within an hour of a set time usually) every day. Otherwise it's effectiveness decreases and your chance of pregnancy increases

The pill should always be taking within 3hrs unless it's certain ones which are within an hour
