3 days after possible IB, another BFN

I made the mistake of convincing myself I could very well be pregnant. On 6dpo I started spotting (had one dark reddish brown gush and only one) and then small amounts of brown spotting for another day. I have never in 35 years bled mid cycle. I don't have heavy periods and cramping either. This morning at 9dpo, I received yet another BFN. I've read so many different articles about mid cycle bleed and none of them fit me. I talked to my doctor yesterday and she said that even if I am pregnant she would have concerns about the spotting. Doctors appointment Thursday, but I'm definitely a little nervous now. Has anyone had something similar happen and it turned out to be nothing?
