Anyone experience cramping or brown discharge in their first trimester?

9 weeks and the other day I experienced dull period like cramp and back pain all day. I also had a very heavy feeling like I usually get with my period. The next day when I would pee there was always a tiny bit of brown discharge. I went to my DR. And she said it could be normal or it could be the beginnings of something bad and we just have to wait and see. Happy to say today I'm not having any cramping or discharge. Anyone else experience this? Anyone experience this before a miscarriage?
