#blackcatappreciationday
So today/yesterday depending on your timezone is Black Cat Appreciation Day in America. It's a cat holiday made to appreciate...black cats obviously, since these cats, when in shelters have the lowest adoption rates out of the other colored cats. They also have a fair amount of unfair stigma and stereotypes surrounding them.
Since CC is sort of on a Controversial Topic ban till the admins and mods figure their stuff out...
Post a picture(s) of your black cat with their name!
Here's my baby Oliver, whom I picked up after my work shift one day , I had gotten in my car and had driven to the entrance/exit of the back parking lot and was getting ready to turn when I heard mewing (my windows were down and that was the ONE day I had my radio off). I parked and got out and found him in some bushes near a tree. He was probably only two months or so old at the time (this was early last fall). He had road rash on the side of his face and on his nose, so my mom and I think someone had thrown him out of their car and he must've landed on his face, there was some of the scabs on his shoulder too, since there were no other cats or kittens around when I had found him that seems like the most reasonable assumption. He had really bad fleas too, so I took him to the vet and they gave me medicine for him. I almost didn't keep him but I'm glad I did, I named him Oliver after that old cartoon movie about the orange orphaned kitten named Oliver. I tease him a lot and call him my little orphan or bastard son lmao.
My other cat, even though it's almost been a year, still hates him sadly lmao.
