Period?

I have been spotting brown discharge the past few days. I'm not entirely sure if it's my period or not. It's not super heavy for me to wear a heavy pad, but it's not light enough to wear a panty liner. I've been wearing light pads and it seems to be enough but yeah, could it be my period?

Also, when I wipe, it doesn't appear on the toilet paper. It just appears on the pad itself.
