NEED HELP!!!

I don't know a lot about pregnancy, and all that comes with it because school is not that grate at teaching what you need and my mom doesn't really talk about those things with me. The thing is that about 2 weeks ago I had sex with my boyfriend. The app was telling me that I wasn't ovulating so I wasn't that worried but I was supposed to get my period and apparently I'm a week late and now I'm starting to get worried. I'm just wondering if there is a chance of me being pregnant. Should I get a test?

UPDATE

So I took the test and it came negative, which I'm very happy about. But my boyfriend is still worried because I'm showing most of the symptoms and he wants me to take another test next week if my period doesn't come at all this week.
