period flow

So I have ovarian cysts, and my period has been very irregular since July 15, 2015. It's finally just coming around in the past few cycles by itself, and my cycles are about 40 days long. My last period was almost like being back to normal, pretty heavy the first couple days and then slowly goes away. However, I just had a week of spotting, does it sound like I had my period? It would have put my cycle to 28 days...

I'm so done with these irregularities!!
