Not responding to simple request.

My boy turned one on the 7th. I've noticed he doesn't listen to me at all...I repeatedly have to tell him "No" when he gets into stuff he's not suppose to or does stuff. He just continues to do it, it doesn't seem to stick. Is this normal? Also he doesn't seem to understand when I ask him "where is the ball?" or "go get the ball for me" those or just examples. Anyone else going through the same? I'm worried. And Google makes things worse because all that pops up is stuff about autism. 😒 I know every child is different but I'd appreciate some feedback or hearing I'm not alone.
