Eyemed?
I got vision insurance through Eyemed's Bright plan for Florida. I spoke with the product specialist and looked thoroughly through the plan details. There was support for contact fittings and follow up (after comprehensive eye exam) and even a contact allowance; I was even told this as I looked through the details. When I purchased it because it seemed like such a great deal compared to others plans, the contact allowance ($200) showed up, but the support for fittings and follow up did not (on my schedule of benefits).
I called Eyemed, which resulted in an hour long phone call, six transfers, and NO answer. All I wanted to know was whether or not I would still receive the benefits that got me to purchase the plan in the first place. I also called LensCrafters, but I don't have the insurance change on file with them and I won't until September 1st, when I go in for my appointment.
Does anyone know anything about this? I'm very anxious and indecisive, so this is a very overwhelming process for me. I just want one answer and I haven't stopped searching for one for several hours. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I don't have the resources to go and get an exam done, then find out my insurance won't cover it. 😓
