Using Mucinex to thin CM?

Hi ladies, newbie here. Have anyone tried the mucinex approach and if yes, any success?

​I just bought two bottles of the generic ones at Walmart for 88c each. If anyone else is interested in trying. Make sure it only has Guaifenesin as the active ingredient. That's what I've learned from the research.

It may help yes and you have to make sure the medicine only contains guaifenesin. This can be in many cold products including robitussin but for these purposes I would only use the medicine with the ingredient by its self. It is the guaifenesin that thins your mucus. I am a respiratory therapist and we use this to thin mucus in the lungs. It also makes mucus in other parts of your body thin. The key to this from my experience is to drink plenty of water with it. The medicine uses the fluid in your body to thin the mucus. If you are dehydrated it can't work. Good luck to you all. I am also using it ttc 13 months now post depo provera.

​As states below, I used mucinex for the first time this month and we were hoping it worked! Well....it worked!! I got my bfp this morning!! Now keep in mind, I was doing other things as well such as lots and lots of water, no caffeine, charting, opks, (I did not temp this month!) healthier eating etc...so who knows what did the trick but mucinex was really the only new thing I did this month! So ladies!...I suggest you go buy yourself some mucinex!! Good luck!!

I used it this month for the first time. I started taking one 12-hour a day a week before my fertile days. Then I took two a day on my fertile days. I noticed a HUGE difference. I hope I get my BFP. I also used preseed just incase but I don't think I needed to. AF is due March 27th so we will see :)

I started mucinex this month as well. I noticed a big difference! I bought the Kirkland brand from costco...it was cheap and it's costco so let's face it, you get a ton! It was the 200mcg ones so I usually took it three times a day. I started taking it on cd 9 or 10 and continued through my positive opks and a few days after so probably about cd 18-19! AF is due in a few days so I guess we will find out how effective it is but I will defiantly use it again next month if we don't get our bfp!

Careful, you need to use the extended release version as well.

Yes. I used it for the first time this cycle. It helped real good for me. I had never had so much CM as I did think this cycle. I bought the 88c ones too. I read online that a lot of people got there BFP the month they used it.
