Like someone else who responded, I've had IBS-C since I was a child. My treatment lately has been prescription Linzess and Miralax. I'm pregnant atm so I don't take those at the moment though. Once I relieved my "backup" 😂 I was able to just use both as needed. When I did my colonoscopy last December just the Dulcolax (pills, over the counter) and Miralax (powder, over the counter) they prescribed cleaned me out. The fluid intake and movement (exercise can be painful when you're constipated) really does help though.

ive had Ibs-C since i was 16. my doctor gave me stool softeners they havent been working so i went in last week and asked for something else he said you cannot take laxitives during pregnancy because they can cause contractions. he found something safe for me to take called Lactoluse. worth a shot its helping me now :)

Are you pregnant?  If so don't take any stimulant laxatives only things like colace and drink bunch of water and go for walks cause it helps with colon movement

Take an over the counter laxative. There's many options. There are also teas that help relieve constipation.
