Sinuses and Migraines

Caylee

I suffer from migraines (and sinus problems), and it's all based on weather changes. And sometimes my migraines manifest as sinus headaches. I was prescribed Sumatriptan by my neurologist for my migraines (50mg) if Excedrine doesn't work. Well, the weather here in Southern Ca is just a disaster during the summer months, which makes my headaches a disaster. Now that my husband and I are ttc #1 I try not to take the prescribed medication (even though the pharmacist said it would be fine to take in the early weeks of pregnancy when I asked about that and Flonase), but I'd rather take the Sumatriptan right away so I don't have Excedrine and then the Sumatriptan. Last week I had a horrible headache, I tried Excedrine, then Tylenol (which doesn't do shit for me), and then finally had to take the Sumatriptan. I use peppermint, too; but that doesn't help as much as it used to. I also use an ice pack, which helps sometimes.

So to get to my question, after that background, what do you ladies take when you have a migraine that's worked for you? Again, I've tried Tylenol and it doesn't work so I don't quite need that as a suggestion.

Thank you!
