how long should i take antibiotics for a uti?

so i have a uti and i had a pack of antibiotics at home that i bought the last time i was at the obgyn office. i took 2 pills ( out of 10) today as the paper said. now im better but should i take all of them?

Yes you're supposed to take it all until it's gone. Just because you're feeling better does not mean the bacteria is completely gone and if you don't finish the prescription it could come back!

Yes take all of your antibiotics. If you don't this is exactly how antibiotic resistant bacteria develops.

Good lord. Where do I start? First of all, you should not be self-diagnosing & putting yourself on antibiotics that were prescribed for you from a different trip to the Dr. Secondly, you always always finish antibiotics (unless you have an allergic reaction or something, obviously). Doing stuff like this doesn't just put you at risk but also puts everyone else at risk because it contributes to the development of drug-resistant bacteria.
