Labor stories with induction/epidural??

Question

Hey everyone! I've been reading wonderful birth stories online about natural childbirth, but I want to hear some positive stories about being induced or having an epidural! I need some positivity my way concerning this now that my due date is getting closer! Thanks!

I went as long as I could without an epidural (7cm) before the pain was too much. I got an epidural, and it kicked in almost immediately. It was WONDERFUL! It really helped me relax and let my labor progress. I didn't feel a thing, either. I went from 7 to 10 in 2 hours and pushed out my 9lb baby in 20 minutes as a first time mom. You got this!!! 😊😊😊

I was induced at 41 weeks and I only needed a small dosis of the medicine for the labor to get started. Took the first pill at 08:30 in the morning and had contractions immediately. I had a epidural at around 3 in the afternoon with around 5-6 cm. It didn't hurt, just the thought of a gigantic needle in my back was scary😌. It kicked in right away and I felt nothing but preassure. my legs were a bit numb but i was able to move them. Thank god I had it, because they had to cut in the end in order to get him out. I had no problems with headaches or nausea afterwards.Would do it again any time!😊He was born at 7:21 in the evening the same day.

My easiest labor by far was completely induced. I have big babies (9-10 pounds) so my doctor induced me with my second baby at 39 weeks. I wasn't even effaced or dilated yet. I was able to get my epidural early on and as soon as I got it, my body was able to relax and I progressed very quickly. My entire labor was about half the length of my first. I went from 5-10 cm in under an hour and baby was here after only a couple pushes. I remember thinking "I could do that again!" And I did - baby number 3 came 1 year and 1 day after his brother! My water broke at 39 weeks 2 days with my first.  I was not dialated and I never started to contracting on my own so they ended up inducing me because of risk of infection.  The contractions were very strong but still manageable.  At 6 cm I got an epidural, unfortunately I went from 6 to 10 cm in 20 mins so they just could not catch up with me.  I was so anxious to meet our little girl it didn't matter.  I did push for 1 hr and 1/2 but didn't really tare. I only needed 1 stitch and had zero complications!  Overall everything went great, I am actually contemplating if I will even do an epidural this time since it never kicked in last time and I don't know if the hassle was worth it.  The only time I threw up was when they were putting the epidural in because I felt so much pressure.

I was induced at 39 weeks for boarder line pre-e. I was already 4 cm before I was induced so it didn't take long for them to want to break my water. After that the contractions were sooooo painful I got my epidural immediately!! It was amazing. It did make me a bit shaky but oxygen stopped the shaking immediately. I was induced at 9pm and started pushing at 3am. Baby popped out in 15 min and I only needed 3 stitches so tearing wasn't bad at all. The epidural was wearing off by the time I was ready to push and I didn't want to re-dose myself because I was scared I wouldn't be able to push so it hurt like crazy but it was over quickly! I went to the hospital for a pain in the right side of my back that would NOT go away, my blood pressure had high readings so they had me do a 24hr urine and said to take it to my doctor on Tuesday (3/3/15), so that's what I did and when I got to my doctor my blood pressure was 150/90 so they said they were going to induce me. I was Induced that day at 38 weeks. So I got to the hospital and they started fluids and then the doctor didn't in and broke my water. I got the pitocin about 30 mins later and the contractions started coming. I was 1cm & 90% effaced when everything started. My baby started to become distressed because he didn't have any fluid around him so they had to do this thing where the basically put more fluid up there, idk what it's called. So, my contractions kept coming stronger and stronger and when they got to the point where I couldn't just breathe through them anymore I got the epidural (I was about 4-5 cm). After that I started to relax. But, then my baby's heart rate kept dropping and they kept making me change positions to try to help, which sucked and it didn't really help. His head wasn't coming down and they started to get worried that I may have to have a c-section. My doctor got his head to come down some and I was at 10cm & 100%. Well, a few mins later all these people came rushing in and bam the stirrups were up and it was time for me to start pushing because his heart rate got really low, it happened so fast and I was terrified I was going to lose my baby, but I pushed as hard as I possibly could maybe three times and in about 10 mins my beautiful 5lb 11oz 19.5 inch baby boy was born at 7:10 pm on 3/3/15. My labor was only 8 hours from the time I got the pitocin and it wasn't too bad aside from the fact that his heart rate kept dropping. It was the best day of my life and I know it's different for everyone, but for me being induced wasn't the horror story that some say it is.

Uh on the plus side when I was induced I didn't feel contractions until the last 4 hours, then when I got the epidural it helped me dialate much much faster.

I labored for 17 hours (Lamaze breathing does help) and was asked if I wanted my epidural..I wasn't going to be rude so I took it😂 My son crowned but turbed towards my hip and we had a c-section. It was a great experience.
