I had dinner with a guy friend of mine which he knew about and we catched up with each other until 2am just talking about everything in life. Including sex I'm very open about it. It got to the point that we were talking about potentially being fwb with each other and cuddling. In the end nothing happened but the fact that I said that I'll be your fwb if I wasn't in a relationship is that cheating

If I was in a relationship with you and I heard you did/said all this, I'd break up with you. I'd consider it a breach of trust. I don't know if it's cheating, it's a grey area, but it's very unfair to your SO.

If you tell someone you would be their FWB when you are in a relationship that implies, although you haven't cheated you intend too if it comes up. So to even think about doing that when you're in a relationship is cheating.

Maybe. To me I would consider it emotional cheating. You are actively forming a strong connection with someone else other than your boyfriend from the way your post reads. The cuddling part would bother me personally - cuddling seems like an intimate thing to do. But everyone is different, it really comes down to what you (and your partner) consider cheating.

Maybe not cheating but definitely crossing inappropriate boundaries. You should tell your boyfriend the truth, hiding it is worse. He should know so he can make an informed decision as to whether or not he wants to move forward in this relationship with you.
