What is nightlife in America like?

I know this will depend a lot on the state and stuff, but yes I am going for a few months to America on a college exchange programme, to either North Carolina or Boston, just wondering what is like to go out at night in America and how is clubbing over there compared to Europe?

Idk about Boston. But I do live in the area of NC it does have rural area just like any other place does xD But it has cities as well with the traffic and all you'd see in a busy town clubbing depends on what part ur in. In the cities pretty upbeat and more lively on Fridays with the alcoholic beverages and loud music and people wanting to dry hump ya lol But if you find some chill ppl it can get pretty much crazy on it's on with bonfires and shit because aye there aren't any staff to control the situation lol  but like I said all depends on area. But besides clubbing tho in the city areas you can find pretty cool eating places .. museums ..little coffee shops..crazy ppl... lol and in the rural areas you have hiking trails mountain views state park wise and there are amusement parks and shit.

This is kinda hard to say because partying in Madrid, Paris, and like Berlin are all kinda different and then a college party is gonna be different than all of those. College parties (again depends) can be a lot more house (frat or sorority) parties than bar-hopping as it's easier for people below 21 to get away with drinking and in my experience these parties end earlier than a night out in Madrid for example. But honestly with a group of young people it'll all be pretty similar. Depends on your college and what your group of friends prefer (clubbing? House parties? Bars?)
