BIRTH CONTROL PILLS & PREGNANCY

I I started my birth controls pills and have been on the pill for 6 days. I log my period consistently and ideally my period should start on Tuesday the 29th-if I weren't in the pill. (I ovulated Aug 10th-16th). This morning the 26th, i let my SO finish inside me. I have taken 6 active pills so far (will take my 7th tonight) everyday at 7:00pm no later than 7:03. I have an alarm set and take it with me everywhere. I read that you usually need to wait 5-7 days for the pill to be effective without using a backup method. Has anyone gone without additional protection without the full week? COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS NEEDED PLS.
